Solgar® Gentle Iron™ contains a form of iron bisglycinate, a unique, highly absorbable form of iron. One capsule a day provides 20 mg of iron as ferrous bisglycinate, a well-tolerated form of iron that minimizes the intestinal discomfort and constipation usually associated with other iron supplements.
Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin and to normal energy metabolism, and its levels can be compromised in people with heavy bleeding or diets lacking in this nutrient, such as a vegan diet.
