    Reactine Plus 5 mg/120 mg – 14 Extended-Release Tablets

Reactine Plus 5 mg/120 mg, 14 tablets, is a medication that combines cetirizine, an antihistamine, and pseudoephedrine, a nasal decongestant. It is indicated for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis accompanied by nasal congestion in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older.

Each extended-release tablet contains 5 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride and 120 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.

Its combination allows it to act on allergic symptoms and the feeling of a stuffy nose when both occur simultaneously.

What is Reactine Plus used for?

Reactine Plus is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis when nasal congestion is present.

It may help relieve discomforts such as:

    • Nasal congestion associated with allergies.
    • Frequent sneezing.
    • Nasal discharge or rhinorrhea.
    • Itchy nose.
    • Ocular symptoms related to allergies, such as itching and watering.

It is not a treatment for all causes of nasal congestion, nor is it indicated to cure allergies.

    How does Reactine Plus work?

    Cetirizine 5 mg: antihistamine action

Cetirizine is an H1 antihistamine that helps reduce symptoms caused by histamine during an allergic reaction.

Its action contributes to the relief of sneezing, itching, rhinorrhea, and ocular discomfort associated with allergic rhinitis.

    Pseudoephedrine 120 mg: decongestant action

Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic with a vasoconstrictor effect on the nasal mucosa. It helps reduce congestion and the feeling of nasal obstruction.

Its presence also implies important precautions in people with high blood pressure, certain cardiovascular diseases, and other health problems.

    Composition of Reactine Plus

    Each tablet contains:

    Cetirizine dihydrochloride: 5 mg.
    Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride: 120 mg.

Contains lactose: 43.23 mg per tablet, according to the technical data sheet.

    How to take Reactine Plus?

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:

Take one tablet in the morning.
Take one tablet in the afternoon.
Maximum dose: two tablets per day.
    Maximum duration: seven days.

If the second dose is taken in the afternoon or evening, it should be separated from bedtime due to the risk of insomnia.

Treatment should be discontinued when symptoms disappear, without prolonging it unnecessarily.
